Default 1998, 2000-2001 Integra Type R or RSX Type-S

Alright, still waiting on insurance money, but when it comes down to it, what should I get?

I am debating the Integra Type R over the Type S because of price, it is drastically cheaper. The Type R is my dream car, but the Type S is so nice.

Well chances are that if my GS-R got stolen, my Type R will get stolen a lot quicker eh?

BTW- i'm 20, full time college student, and work full time too.

I simply cannot do it! Affordability is not the question, I can do it.

I had a 94 GS-R (loved that car) and I simply cannot go for anything less than that was...

Only other option would be to get a 7th Gen Civic Hatchback and do a swap, but then with that I simply don't have the time!

I understand the bias that this forum has, but I wanted to get the R owner's views too...

I know there are plenty of other cars that I *could* consider, but point in being that I am a Honda enthusiast. I know they don't make the fastest cars, but there's something about that sound of a four banger whirring @ around 8000 RPM that get's me.

The Type R has been my dream car for almost 4 years. But when the Type S came into the market, I changed my mind. But this past week I still cannot get the Type R outta my mind. I figured the Type S is an easy option because of availibility, I don't think it's possible for me to even find a Type R around here!

Graduate from College and then buy the car of your dream. Mines is the NSX! Until then I'll keep dreaming!

Yup. My choice is winning.

I know it's hard to get a beater but think about the fact that you won't have to worry about mods/theft so you'll have more time to concentrate on school which is what is truly important.

.....I say get an '00 itr in black or '97-'98 in cw. debadge, de-wing and LS-ify it.

Keep is subte exterior wise and nobody will try to steal it. Of course a pager alarm and teletrack, lojack,etc...

Type S is so much less than a pretender to the throne that I wouldn't even consider it, imho.

What makes you think your RSX won't get stolen, with the new Civic HB coming out, you know people are going to be itching to get their hands on that RSX motor to make their car the CTR. If I were you I would get the ITR, because the car is classic, I have raced RSX, and they don't even compare the me. IMO the ITR is a better buy, because you can probably get one for around 18-21k. Just get the 00-01 because they come with the key code, and that's a little safer than the 97-98 ones.

I would suggest RSX over ITR.... Its just my taste tho.. up to you... but overall main reason i would stay away from from ITR is because every week i hear that at least 2 or 3 are stolen from message boards and word of mouth.. My cousin just sold his cause he didn't want to worry about it anymore.. Ture RSX might get jacked too but the chances are small.... Overall i love ITR it kicks ***, but up to you.. Just my opinion..

don't come on a type r forum and ask type r owners if you should buy a type r (2%, 1 votes)

not nearly as much.
In my VERY specific case, it costs THREE times more to insure an 00 ITR than with my 98 GSR. (what prevented me from buying one last year)

Yup. GSR can get taken.

My 2001 6 month old GSR was taken away from me. But then again, Washington has two of the top 10 cities where the most cars are stolen.

Doh.

Hybrid. If you haven't had a project car you must get it out of your system. The ITR works with only mild mods. Plus an ITR is more expensive to start from.

EG chassis is cheap, motors an abundant amount to choose from. H22 and turbo it!

If you desire the fine wine, well then ITR no doubt.

hehehe
and you might think there is no problems with theft with the current RSX???
wait after one or two years...and you'll soon see that all your friends and his neighbor's dog would probably have an type S engine under the hood of his Civic Si....

the type R is a legend, i'd love to have one (if insurnace were cheap)
if i get one i would do the same thing as the other guy here, debage it, dewing, and make it look like an LS. slap on a hubcap to cover the 5 lugs too

Gsr's get stolen constantly, there are thousands of b18c's in hatches all over the world,so if your question is do they steal them? There are more b18c floating around than b18c5's.
