manual transmission fluid fill level
how much transmission fluid should i put in the car. i have been told to 1. remove the speedometer gear and fill it up entirely and i have been told to 2. just put 2 quarts in. which is best. sorry for the stupid question

pour it through the vss and find out how much fluids your tranny takes....or you could pull the fill plug and wait for it to leak out of there, but you might have to replace the crush gasket

No no no no no,
Take out the speedo cause its easier to fill into the hole on the top then the side. Now remove the TOP plug on the side, Fill it up untill it runs out of that hole. Replace both and your set to go.

OR you can just remove the speed sensor and add 1.9qts for D series or 2.5qts for B series. If you know how much it takes then why do the messy *** oil running out the hole thing.
