It's possible get cheaper inserts for $5-600 if you're going to stay at 87mm bore.</TD></TR></TABLE>
does that include labor?
whats it run just for parts?

The thing is i don't believe there are any machine shops that can press in the sleeves locally. roughly with the cost of the sleeves and machine work is what i was looking for. it is a closed deck and is gonna remain n/a. i was just hoping not to hear $2000. i'll end up calling golden eagle either way. just wanted a heads up.
Just get the Mahle GoldSeries pistons.
YOu won't have to sleeve the block. Many people are using them - and they work great.
SOmeone's going to tell you they have problems, but thats when they first came out. The problems are fixed and some people have been 20k using them.
The pistons cost $449.

Thank you for the replies, however i prolly should have added that i had melted the pistons to the cylinders and some of the sleeves had started to crack and become chiped so the block that i have is not usable otherwise yes i was considering the mahle's prior to my miss-hap. also if anyone has a sleeved block please let me know. evertime i try to post on the wanted to buy thread it doesn't post and i get a message from someone telling me it was locked and whatnot. once again guys thanks for the replies.
the wanted to buy thread is already there, on the top of the page, dont make a new thread, just reply to that one....
you need to take the block to a machine shop and have them bore and hone so you can get oversize pistons (.25 over most likely) and then just use the mahles.....

If the sleeves are cracked you're going to need replacement sleeves, which generally costs $1000 for parts & labor (does not include shipping).
Depending on if you're in a rush or not you can try and wait for a good deal to come along on a used sleeved block. I lucked out & got a sleeved block for a fair price.

well my block is with out a dought junk unless i get it sleeved. i thought that the sleeves couldn't be honed or bored. also i've read that the rings have a moly coating as well and wouldn't that wear off during break in as the rings seated in?
Looking for info about the pistons....we have a thread going in the forced induction section. It should be on page 2 or 3 if no one has updated it.
