I ride a little over 100 miles/day and it's really starting to wear on my **** and *ahem* upper inner thigh. Any SV riders have experience with the Suzuki GEL seats? Its about half as much as a Corbin, but I wouln't have a problem paying for either because I NEED something different. TIA
Corbin's (and Sargent's) theory is that the gel seats don't provide enough support. Same goes for the stock seats. The seats made by Corbin (and Sargent) are more firm than their OEM counterparts. The seat shape is also different from the stock one.
My Corbin was much better than the stock seat on my old F3. I'm getting a Sargent soon for my SuperHawk.

The Corbin? I guess only a real ride can determine if I'll like it.
The only concern I have is the contours appear to set you far back in the saddle. I typically ride closer to the tank...ionooooooooo

I've got the OEM Suzuki Gell on my '03 SVS and when I first put it on it was amazing, and it's still good, It just seems to leave alittle something to be desired.
I think it was entirely worth the money.

every thread ive seen about the gel vs corbin vs sargent seat says the gel seat is a good cheap comfortable seat...but of course u get what u pay for... IMO i thought i needed a new seat, but i guess my butt got used to it cause i dont even get soar anymore...
I have an 05 sv650 too and I have the corbin... and I've had the stock one for 2000 miles and the corbin for about 2400 and I can honestly say that that the firmness of the corbin scared me at first and was a bit rough for the first 500 miles but after that the corbin gave me a good 3 hours longer before the soreness in the *gonads* sets in but you are right about sitting back a little further but you also sit alittle lower..
Ooooh and if you get the corbin be advised that you need to take your time installing and be ready to bend the metal tabs on it a bit.

Amazing. All that money for a Corbin seat and you've got to fiddle with it so it will fit. Although, I've heard some Sargents require a little bending/muscle to fit.

I guess I didn't mention clearly in the first post...my upper inner thigh is getting really irritated as of lately and kind of "rashes." Would you guys think this is due to the seat or what? Ive tried different underwear (haha this is turning ghey) such as nylon/spandex and boxer briefs.

Do you move around a lot on your bike seat? They could be friction burns, which, when scratched, get more and more irritated. Especially if you're riding all the time. Are the rashes near the seat seams/line? Or near the lines of your underwear?

sounds more like a rash from moving around a bit.... wear boxers not tighty whiteys
on another note I love my corbin. My brother noted that it was extremely comfortable. Only thing is I wish I had the leather one and not the nylon one...

I can't wear boxers...hate 'em. But anways, before I splurge on a Corbin I think I am just going to try some different riding positions (dammit) and go from there. Thanks for the help.
Well at the risk of this post turning weird let me ask....
How tall (or should I say short) are you that you are riding with your junk on the tank??
Also with the corbin I learned that you have alot less suffering if you sit IN the saddle and don't fidget around from side to side.

Im 5'11''. And you guys are misinterpreting my riding position. I don't ride with my "junk" (seems to be the word to use in this thread) on the tank...I just prefer to ride towards the front of the saddle.
