Default zc or b16? someone make my mind up

It sounds like a obvious question, go with the b16, but wait. I have a SOHC ZC at my house, all i have to do is bring it down to prostreetimports, or do it myself, but im scared to do it myself, or take out a $3000 dollar loan, fix my wheel bearings(both ) and have the b16 installed, and pay off a bank, but if i dont take out that loan i have to save for the wheel bearings which is $800, which is a long tme, ijust dont know.

Being in debt sucks. Do whatever puts you in the least debt.

learn how to do the work yourself and swap the b16.

For the bearings, remove the knuckles yourself and take them to the machine shop and have the new ones pressed in. Reinstall them yourself. You should be able to fix both of them for less than $200.

Fear not the Honda, for its bolts are metric, and its engineering is good.

The kind that a shop is trying to rip you of with! He's probly got a 89 hatch i(I guessed from the interior on his avatar) bearing are only like 75 bucks and shops only charge a max of $50 to press in bearings and it doesn't take a genius to unbolt about ten bolts.

$800 wheel bearings...damn, either I don't charge nearly enough, or someone is ripping you a new one...you can replace all 4 and still not be out $800.
Just go buy yourself a Helms, jack up your car and remove your hub, take it to a shop and just let them press it in. You won't be out $200 probably if you just carry your stuff in. Or, I didn't read where you were from, but if it happens to be in AL, just bring it to me and I'll hook it up for you.

Anyway, if you already have a good ZC sitting, just put it in.

800 is what we get charged up in big ebar, and thats the cheapest, i figured i am going to take the knuckles off and have a shop press out and back in the new bearings, i can take it down the hill to redlands and what not where i know its cheaper but my car might not make it. And with the engine, its a 89 SOHC ZC, and i haev a 90 crx si, it was a good guess on the interior that was my old hatch, but i have it in a 89, is there any difference in the engines besides the spindle for the clutch? Also off subject but my crx at 5000 in fifth only goes 100, i have reason to believe its a replacement engien, but is everyone else si gears so short? i could easily go 120 in my dx, i dont approve, i was young and stupid, is the si's tranny that much shorter? thanks guys
