hey there everyone, i was hoping i could get some much needed help.
on a friend of mine's 94 civic SI with a SOHC ZC motor, we are swapping the tranny with a SOHC LSD tranny that he found. we also replaced the clutch and pressure plate. the big problem is that we can't for the life of us get the tranny back onto the motor.
the motor is still in the car, we just took out the tranny, and the hardest part is getting that tranny shaft into the clutch assembly. the motor is now on an angle as the only mount is the driver side fender one. i think we just can't get the shaft in so that we can bolt up the tranny. should we jack up the motor so that it sits level and then put the tranny on? or do we bolt up the tranny to the motor while it's still on the angle? any help would be very appreciated

ive always bolted on the tranny with the motor as straight as possible...can be a bitch sometimes though, as it has to work its way onto the shaft
**Make sure the clutch disk is aligned properly**

Well, if your trying to just lift the tranny and align the shaft physically, i speak from experience, it can be a htcib. I would also suggest making sure that in the proccess of taking off the tranny or maybe trying to get the shaft back in, that you didnt get your clutch off alignment.. Once you got it aligned, then bolt it up to the engine, then re-attatch the motor mount.
When i did my tranny, all i had was my two hands, and like 4 jacks. Two for the car, and two for the tranny, and it was a pain in the ssa.. GL bro

do what you have to do. if you have to jack the motor up, do so. it can be a bitch sometimes. if you have three people, its much easier. you and your friend should push up on the tranny from underneath the car and have a little brother(or someone)help you pull up from the engine bay.
just have the third person pull up from the hole where the starter goes, then youll make it a lot easier on yourself.
hope this helps. gl
