I pretty much did the same thing, and never had a problem. Was thinking an upgrade would not hurt me.

the miller helmet...i have one and they're sick. UBER comfortable...the adjustable band doesnt pinch my hair...and its pretty bulletproof.
The Speedglas model is only a shade 10 model, which wouldn't be very helpful with TIG, especially low amperage TIG welding. The Miller has and adjustable shade level from 9 to 13, so it's fairly obvious which one to pick if you're going to be doing some TIG welding.
Right now I'm using a $75 Harbor Freight special. I turn it all the way down to shade 9 when I TIG, but I'm hoping to buy a nice Speedglas helmet soon.

I noticed that, and I think I have the same helmet as you or similar.

What ? If you are saying its ugly, since when does a good mask need to look good ?

it's more of a personal preference thing
i mean, i'd not get a mask that looked like that.....cause, well, i think it's ******* ugly. for the most part, a mask is a mask. some are lighter, some are heavier....just try on a bunch and figure out what fits best for your head and your useage. i tried on all of the ones at several welding shops, and endedup with a $30 mask that made me happier than any of the $100+ ones on the market. and it's flat black, so it's honda-tech approved for "JDM"

What other settings does it have.

speedglas is by far a better helmet overall i own one and love it dont get me wrong the miller ones are eye catching but for quality and the safety of your eyes i would def go with speedglas
the speedglas has better controls and they are the original people that made the first auto darkening helmet they use swedish technology and glass in there helmets
another thing is that speedglas makes all the lenses for all the other companies like miller and others for there helmets its just that they put there name on it and change the design a little
my personal opinion i would go with speedglas for the quality fit and reliabilty
your getting every pennies worth when you by that helmet and now the prices dropped because i got my helmet when they were still about 500 and up and i have no regret whats so ever
good luck

the settings can be changed the shade on my helmet is fro 9 - 13 and sensitivity 1-4 and delay + and - i have the 9002x lens
hope that helps
with aluminum you want to go a higher shade at low amps because it gives alot brighter arc and this helmet is perfect because of the different ranges you can pick

Actually I don't think the one I'm looking at can be changed, because they have seperate helmets with different shade, 1 helmet is a shade 10 I think, and the other is 11.
