alright here's the story... i went to go pickup a girl from work one day and when i got there i turned my headlight switch off and they stayed on- so i turned my car off and they still stayed on... no matter what i do my headlights(my high beams work fine) stay on... the only way to turn them off is to unplug the light bulbs... its been like this for about a week and everytime i have to turn them on/off i have to go and plug/unplug them manually... needless to say this is a pain in the ***... it did stop though for a little while when i was at my buddies house but it started happening again about 15 minutes later... any ideas? thanks guys

its either the relay or the switch, im betting its the relay, cheap fix

 

does anyone know where its located? is it one of the relays on the fuse box? if so i have spares for both of those... thanks for the help

i did a search for you (do it yourself next time) and it says that their is either no relay, or its in the switch.

do you know where the main relay is? its near the hood pulling thing. try that first. when your lights are on, disconnect the main relay, those things are known to go bad in 88-91 ef.

 

but the main relay only deals with fuel??? or at least im pretty sure it does... thanks a lot for the help

yeah the main relay deals with fuel, but it might do something wierd
