EP3, FG Coupe, or FG Si
Just wanting some opinions. I'll take the good, the bad, and the very ugly. I'm in the market for buying a new car. I have so many options my mind is spinning right now and I'd just like some opinions.
Couple current non new cars I'm looking at is a 01 Type R with 14k miles on it for under 20k.
05 Black Si w/ HFP Kit with under 10k miles for under 18k.
I could buy a new 06 Civic Coupe, Rallye Red with Black Interior and have some money left over for exhaust, wheels, and a nice drop.
My last choice would be waiting it out and find a Rallye Red 06 Si and not have any money left over.
Just wondering what everyone thinks. The new Si's are nice and they are NEW, plus having a new EX wouldn't be that bad either considering they have 140hp and right now I'm not worried about the performance part. I'll do a swap later down the road or build the engine up for boost when I get to that point, but that would definately be 5-6 years down the road.
Suggestions, POST EM UP

The ITR would be very fun to drive but you might have security issues...
The EP3 would be the medium of your current choices. Nothing much to say about it.
The FG would be a fine choice. If you get the SI, you'd probably have good fun with it. If you get the standard coupe, you will not have fun, but you'll have money in your pockets
Even if you are planning to swap the motor or boost in the later future, i believe you'd be better off with a decently performing car for now.

I would be extremely happy with a very clean Type R or the 06 Si. The EP3 is nice because it has the HFP kit and almost brand new, only 10k miles. Altho I'm not sure about the EP3's handling. Whats the handling like on an EP3, also I don't like the shifter at all.
I honestly wouldn't be unhappy with an EX. The only thing I don't like about it is they've stepped the Si up so much. LSD, 6 spd and the k20 with 200hp.

The handling is not that bad right out of the box, but throw in the hfp coilovers and those 17's and you got a winner. For a DD I am very happy with my ep3, sure who wouldnt like a little more power and a little better handling, but the ergomonics are really good, not to mention good mileage and the car is not really underpowered.
I have added the hfp coilovers to my ep3 and they made a substantial difference, I am going to add a thicker rear swap and 17's with sticky rubber and I think this car will handle really well. I am hoping by next year some of these new Si's will be smashed up and I can pick up the new engine locally. The ep3 is fine as is, but with just a little modding it's a real go getter for a great price, and comfortable to drive everday.

Awww, man... blasphemy!
Have you tried it, though?
The EP3's handling is pretty good stock -- on the safe side in terms of balance (some understeer) and fairly comfortable. You can change it quite a lot for under two grand.
Between the three choices, I'd have fun with any of them. I would be more paranoid about the Type-R's safety, and the '06 Si has stuff that I wish my EP had anyway.
Does that '05 Si come with the entire HFP kit -- suspension & everything?

You should try driving both if at all possible. With the HFP kit, the EP3 turns out to be quite sporty. The FG2's advantages would mainly be in the drivetrain (not small advantages, either).
