JDM y-1 syncro gear change.
Anyone tackled the subject before? My syncro's are bad and wondered how hard it is to obtain parts for the jdm y-1. I heard that parts for these tranny's are not available at any dealerships. I already opened up the case and found the syncros are wasted and in put shaft bearing bad. Should i just chuck it or try to attempt to rebuild it?

Wow, you're right. The JDM Y1 parts are hard to find.
I checked, the only parts that are the same are the Reverse and Final Drive gear. 3.000 and 4.266 respectively). They're the same as the B18B1 (S80/Y80) tranny.
Good luck dude.
Just in case here are the ratios for the JDM Y1:
1. 3.166
2. 2.052
3. 1.416
4. 1.103
5. 0.870
Reverse 3.000
Final Drive 4.266

just because the gear ratios are the same or similar DOES NOT mean that the gears will interchange. NO 92+ integra tranny can switch parts with a cable tranny as far as i know. i've already tried this myself with a JDM S1.
if your Y1 is dead, then get another tranny.

92-93 tegs were still cable clutches, hydro didn't come out on the teg till the new gen in 94.

Thinking about getting a car with the same problem, if I can get new syncro's for the trans it's a y1 with the lsd in it. Had any luck finding out anything? Would like to know before I buy. Thanks

So this means if I was to get a ys1 tranny for my 96 teg, I'd have to convert my hydro into cable?? How hard is that; and price?
Thanks.

Hasport makes a bracket that allows 94+ cars (hydro) to use cable trannies. Apparently not too hard and the kit+cable tranny is still a bit cheaper than buying another hydro tranny.

Actually, here is another one that looks good as well and is $50 cheaper- http://www.crxguru.com/hydro_brac.htm
