ok i do have a cai...but when i have my car in 4th is when i cant better hear this whining noise as i floor it and come up to 3k rpm when i hear like a faint super charger noise...whats up? i hear it in 5th also but not as noticeable as 4th...i thought maybe its the cai, but that only makes a whistle noise as certain rpm while i accel not as fast....anyways, i just got home and maybe this noise has been there before but i just noticed it...any ideas?

 

learn to love it or learn to drown it out. Almost all SRI's do it. Even some cold air intakes do, but it's not as noticeable as the filter is not close to you.

If there's a loss in power, check to make sure all your clamps are tight and there aren't any leaks.

ok i will check to make sure there isnt any leaks...But my cai usually just makes a short whistle or long if i hold it at around 3-4k(not sure) and at a certain throttle position

 

It is very noticable with my short ram. It does it in every gear around 2-3k rpm . I wouldnt worry. Im sure its normal as posted earlier.
