my friend has a 94 gsr and his fuel pump makes this bzz sound after about 5 mins of driving and stays on. when you start the car in the morning it doesn't make any sound until driven or so. does this indicate that its going bad? his car is also running lean (everything stock) and drives sluggish. any inputs would be great thanks!!! TIA

 

where is the sound coming from?? try checking the grounds under the hood...when i did the swap i didnt ground anything and my fuel pump relay was buzzin like crazy..

the buzzing sound is coming from under the back seat(where the fuel pump is at)
all grounds are connected. im thinking about taking the fuel pressure gauge off my car and put it on his car to test it out. if a fuel pump is going bad, would the fuel pressure be lower?

possibly the fuel pressure will be low

 

yup just swapped over the guage and fuel pressure is around 25 with hose on and 28 w hose off. pretty sure the fuel pump is going out.

 

also... when i first start the car (no fuel pump buzzing sound) fuel pressure was around 30. after driving it buzzing sound came on and fuel pressue dropped to 25 ish.
