New SI with S2000 swap?!?!
Just a thought, but arent both cars running K series motors?!?! Meaning that just like in B series, the blocks are interchangeable. making this the killer swap of the future. There are already S2000 motors laying around...makes you think twice about exactly HOW hideous the new hatch really is.
Uhmmmm.... YEAH.
The driving wheels of a car setup do not really matter -- engines are interchangable provided that there are transmissions that can be used with them. The S2000 engine and drivetrain would not be a simple swap for a Civic Si, or most cars for that matter.
Next the S2000 motor is called the F20C -- It utilizes ivtec and is not related to other F series motors that we have seen before. Who knows if the S2000's F20 motor will bolt up to the new tranmissions used for the K series motors, but the motors do indeed spin in the same directions. Just because the motor is mounted inline with the main driveshaft for an S2000, as most RWD cars are, does not mean that it can be rotated and mounted for a FWD application (again transmissions permitting).
So, bleh.

The S2000 engine code is F20C1. So you could technically put it in the accords with the F-Series engines.

Has anyone heard of cams for these New Si and RSX engines? I read on a couple articles that they would be a bitch to make good cams for becasue of Vtec w/intelligence. IMO rather than a S2000 swap, just add a lot of Type-S or New ITR and CTR(2003) parts to the new 2003 Si. I can't wait to see some of these things on the road.

have you ever looked at an accord engine and an s2000 engine?
do some research just because its an F series motor dosent mean its going to work. b20. the b20 from the origional prelude. will that work in a 94 civic? only with extensive modification.
And yes, the new civics may be good candidates for the rsx-s motor, but thats what a civic si is

if you are on a budget like most of us
THE S2000 ENGINE WILL NOT SWAP INTO ANYTHING
[Modified by KAMiN, 11:17 AM 3/13/2002]
There was once a concept somone brought up to me, take the 6spd gear tranny from the rsx type s, the head off a S2000, and the block out of the new CRV. Theoretically it would be a beast.
ya...hmm...itll be a huge swap since the S2000 is REAR WHEEL DRIVE...lol...i think ud need alot of $$$$$$$
again, don't be a dick cuz you think it's cool, be a dick cuz you KNOW I'm wrong!!!
I know that the S2k is FR but I was thinking that maybe the tranny from a new si would bolt up to the s2k block and there you go...externaslly, they look very similar...maybe not.
the S2k motor sits NORTH SOUTH in the BAY. even if you could bolt the rsx tranny to it the driveshafts would point NORTH SOUTH and the wheels arent under the middle of the frame
press the search button.
Is profanity on this subject really necessary??? Yes it is true that the S2k motor sits north south in the bay, that does NOT mean that if you could bolt the rsx tranny to the engine that the drive shafts will face north and south, drive shafts are NOT attached to the engine. They are either attached to the tranny like AWD and FWD cars, or to a rear differential like in a S2k. With a lot of money this swap is possible, but at the same time, its not worth it. Here are a couple problems that have come up before.
1st off is the matter of tranny, the s2k engine will not bolt onto a K series tranny because the bell housings are different. Then come the problem of mounting the engine. Even if you mount the tranny on the engine with a modified housing, then you would be able to use the tranny mount (this is a BIG maybe) but then you would have to fabricate something in order to mount the end of the engine to the car (RWD engines have mounts on the side unlike most FWD engine that has at least one mount on the end)
With all this considered, then you would have to come up with a shiftlinkage etc etc which means a VERY BIG HEADACHE.
Instead of doing that, I think the K series engine is equal to or better than a s2k motor. THe block is very similar in that all the bearing caps are one piece with the bottom with the block which mean very very high rev potential. The fact that the Si motor is just a detuned RSX motor means that getting considerable hp from that motor should be easy.

Reality is you could mount the motor how ever you could afford, as stated. From the sounds of this topic the s2k isn't going to be in vary many Civics just like a 350 c.i. chevy small block isn't in many CRXs. Hopefully someone will try it and give us a good published article about it. Until then it's just going to be like a tootsy pop, or stuff you talk about when your stoned. The world may never know...

Why do you people insist on opening your mouths when it only serves to prove that YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
Lol...sorry for the old (11 years) post, but this article made me remember how much of a VISIONARY I am...

Apparently no has heard of InlinePro and their F2K swap kit. More money than k swap. My buddy is doing it. $3800 for the EG or DC2 and $5300 for EK chassis then you need a k series trans and the remaining k swap parts. Good luck on wiring cuz so far there is no swap harness

someone is making an f2k kit f20c with k series tranny custom comp clutch they should be available sometime soon read about it the other day maybe if its not too expensive throw one in an eg
