Need Advice On Repair of Roof
My sister took my car out to work and comes home and hits a deer. Completely destroying my left head light, my hood, my windshield, and my roof. Luckily she wasn't hurt. I managed to fix the headlight, get a new hood, get a new windshield, and luckily the frame wasn't damage. Now the only thing I haven't fix is the roof. It's a EG Hatchback DX the damage to the roof is as big as a sunroof. I managed to take the huge dent out. But now everytime you push down on the roof it goes flimzy and pops in and out. I was just wondering how would you guys go and fix this problem. Or would you guys just leave it how it is. It's not noticeable unless you get very very close and see the dents on the roof.
two ways to fixing this.
1. ghetto rig it
2. fix it properly
1. take out your headliner.
you will see that there are multiple beams running across the roof. using a rubber mallot hit the bent one until it meets the roof that will fix the roof from collapsing when you press on it. however this solution is temporary because the seam/joint on the beam and roof is now broken.
2. fix it properly. replace the entire roof with a new one. or have the entire roof fixed professionally through a bodyshop. However fixing the existing roof will still be able to tell that there was work done to it. because its a flat panel that is horizontal with no bodylines on it.
