i got a guage cluster out of the 01-05 civic si and i want to put it in an 89 crx dx the thing that i saw today is that my guage clusters speedometer is operated by a cable from the tranny and the new guage cluster doesnt have that. is there any possible way to do that or should i sell it and put a gsr cluster instead? if i could sell it how much can i get.

 

Ive seen RSX, S2000, Insight, GSR, SiR, Type R, Civic Type R, and many many other gaugues from all markets all over the planet swaped into CRXs. There is always a way to do it. How exactly Im not really sure but if you take the time to learn how do you it you can be like some of the people here on HT. You can be the first one to ever swap an 01-05 cluster into a CRX. Maybe its been done before but not that Ive seen. So go nuts and see if you can get it to work.

there is a write up on here about 99 to 2000 guages in a crx , id imagine its about the same . If not im sure this problem has happen to other people trying to do similar swap( probably the s2000) like they said just search its here

 

ive already tried searching. the only thing i found was how to swap a jdm cluster into the rex. but that doesnt help because its cable driven. do you think i could use the electric speed sensor from a new d series tranny?

 

yeah that is pretty much how you would do it, then just fabricate it to fit and do all the wiring. You would need the wiring diagrams from both cars and just wire up your vss and your good to go.
