Default CRANKSHAFT SENSOR

I NEED TO KNOW WHAT YEAR CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WILL WORK FOR MY 99 LS? WILL ONE FROM A 94 UP WORK? OR DO I NEED ONE FROM A 98 UP? PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP.

what is a crankshaft sensor? and what purpose does it serve...

ok, nm. I figured it all out. Its the Crankshaft postioning sensor. What it does is sends signals to the ecu letting it know to fire (dist. to plug) on a piston that is on it way up. I ordered one from a local shop for $140 new. Thanks and I hope this may help someone else in the future.

wow i just pulled one of those off my buddies old b16 last week i threw it in a bucket are they worth anything? if so ill sell that **** on ebay.
