ok guys i orderd passwordjdm.com b20b i recieved it promptly. when i opened the plastic i find that it seems the shipping company dropped it. THIS IS NOT PASSWORDS FAULT THEY HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!!!!. But my question is what do you guys think i should do. password hooked me up for this ordeal and i kept the motor but i wanna use it i'm trying to get my hands on a s/c this is my daily and i want it to be reliable but spunky. what all does it look like i should look t when pop this bad boy open

Looks like that intake cam might be bent/broke. If so then at the same time all the caps might be fucked as well. I would ask for another one if i was you, or have them send you another head if they could.

i personally just think it' just the cam gears i mean everything else is pretty damn stationary there is no way i can see it breaking down the line since the cam gears just gave way
cams definitely might have invisible stress fractures near the cam gears.
i'd ask for $500 and tell them you'll call it even. This way you can replace the cams and the gears with performance parts, and not just expletive the company (shipping or password) just because you can.

just wondering, you had shipping insurance? which shipping company dropped your motor? glad you got compensation for it, and you would have wanted to upgrade your cams/shafts anyway. are you keeping the b20 head or going vtec?
damn that is fucked up ****, at first i just thought ehh its just the valve cover till i looked at the other pics. good luck to you brah, was thinking about buying a b20 ling block also

LoL, I buy all my **** from Venus, the fact is this, you're suppose to look over the engine while at the terminal or prior to accepting the delivery.
If it is indeed broke, reject it, and the carrier's insurance will pay and reimburse you. This is what venus tells me all the time

oh i would def buy from them again. and the freight company knows they were in the wrong they just said they couldn't cover it cause it wasn't properly packed (ex: crate) wich for $549 for a b20 would not be cost effective to crate all of them they did fix the problem out of there own pocket. but i'mnot here to diss them by any means just want to know if there is anythign partiular i should check when i pull valve cover off
the only think I can think of, is when you take it apart, look close and dont rush it. easy does it. I dont know much about motors, but it looks okay other then the cams. Good luck to you.
Just replace ALL the parts connect to the cam gears, including the belt, because 400 pounds of engine on those parts can break things that you cant see with naked eyes. And i thikn you should go VTEC conversion before you supercharge, it will only cost 250 for the converion and 250 for the controller, then supercharge it. The extra 500 dollars is definitly worth it.
I had a stock B20 engine in my civic and it redlined at 6.5k and the horsepower was a little less that 200, I made it VTEC and it redlined at 8.2k and had about 250 to the wheels, now tell me thats not worth it. My B20 now starts VTEC power where it redlined stock.
