how do i tell the difference?

Default how do i tell the difference?

Well when i bought my gsr head it came with the ecu (obd1 p72) but i believe that its USDM but im not sure how do i tell the difference...the reason im asking is b/c i plan on running the s300

yes it is USDM, for cuture reference, http://www.pgmfi.org has alist of every ecu out there and whether they were USDM, JDM, or EDM.

How can you tell its USDM just because of what he said? lol

from the patterns we can learn the following:
first letter = country of orgin
J = Japan
C= Canada
A=USA
G=Europe
second digit, if 5, 7, 9 then ecu is auto usually
third digit denotes the version/variation

My bust, when I checked PGMFI, I didn't notice the JDM P72, just saw the OBD1 and 2 USDM ones.

wel lwhere it has the code sticker there is nothing but #'s and on the far righ in caps it says AM..does this mean USA?

I bought a swap that came with a OBD1 P72. It was a JDM motor but it was a smaller size compared to the P28s that I have laying around. Maybe that is what dictates JDM and USDM?
