crx dash in civic
i have it done, i just reused the wiring that was there, the only thing is that i couldnt get the bracket behind the radio (that metal peice which holds the dash to the floor) it just doesnt line up but i have had no problems and i think it looks sick. Looks stock. took me like 3 hours to do, only because the stock one wouldnt come out without breaking it. i say go for it
ive done it a few times, and its pretty simple.
i can do a complete swap in less than a hour now.
when u pull the old dash, u will see that the wires are left behind, so nothing on that changes.
and like said above, there is a bracket on the rex thats on the floor behind the radio that the hatch doesnt have that u really dont NEED anyway.
also, if you are putting a dash from a crx into a hatch with tilt steering, the rex dash sits lower, and u lose your tilt, and have to leave your steering wheel all the way down.
also, the guages dont bolt right up if u are using your stock guages, only 2 screws will fit in, but it will be plenty secure with only two, and the hood holds it in fine anyway.
doorpanels are exactly the same. no problems at all.

looks better, everthing is angled at the driver, its custom and not stock, why not. i highly doubt some one is going to steal a hatch just for the fact is has a crx dash. i dont see any disadvanteges. i got one in my hatch and i like it.

lol i didnt say some ones gonna steal the car for a dash</TD></TR></TABLE>
thats why you put your old VIN plate on the rex dash.
also, there are a buttload of other places in the car, that the VIN is located. if they are trying to trace a stolen car, they usually look at the VINs that are stamped into the metal of the car, because the dash VINs are so easy to swap out.
a lot of cars dont even have VIN plates on the dash, so u could just leave it off.
