i just bought a 90 crx si for $300 with only a cracked head. the paint is kinda messy, so i have alreay done all the body work and have it primered i just cant figure out a color( been thinkin the past few weeks) to paint the car, i was thinkin either red, bright yellow, black, or some sorta darker blue. So my question is what color do you guys think i should paint my crx (any color). i am so confused on on this subject.

u guys have a Maaco in the states?????...take it there...ha..get the WRX blue.......i saw the nicest crx ever to exist that was blue.........black...looks shitty if u dont put lots of hours in for prep..so dont go with black........
red always fades too qwik and looks pink = ugly
dont go with yellow....stands out too much ..so if u like to rip around..cops....u know....

white...with black moldings....black rims..and tints


but a type of blue should be the best

 

never seen a crx with a wrx blue. cant really picture that in my head. i got black w/ a crome lip rims and am goin to get tinted windows sooner or later. the body is going to stay stock, maybe a front lip. do you have any pics of a crx painted a lighter blue.

 

i have a pic at home in a magazine..its the nicest colour everrr!!!...its has clear corners and no tints...but that colour makes it look hotter than any chick ill see if can scan it

ya i do for sure.....everything on the roads.....grey grey grey grey grey grey white white...black....grey....and so on....a few reds...navy blues...then yellow....im sure ..especially a fresh new yellow...would be an easy car to remember so its not that easy to tell the cop...oh it was the other bright yellow kirks....but i guess it would look nice too..your call

 

Stock red fades fast ?

My paint job is stock. Never been painted. Over 15 Years Old.




Look at that red. Thats probly like the dullest part on the car Too

 

But it doesnt look pink to me, either.

 

for red...if you want it to stay the colour you paint it, you have to use a good quality paint. So if you want to take that route use good paint.
I was making my recommendation by the many red cars I have seen also going by the majority of the red cars in my area and the environment which quickly ruins a high pigment paint like red......too bad I dont live in Los angeles like you....no salt on the roads after snowfalls like where I live.....

 

sorry for the misrepresentation there Aaron...I guess the appropriate word would have been Orange as opposed to pink...to me ur car looks redish orange..but i guess that could just be me


but no offense....maybe ur car has been taken care of welll...so lets just drop this and focus on the real topic

But then again ASPHALT GREY LOOKS GOOD TOO!!! that's my 87 4dr with oem paint....

Here's my CRX, its *similar* to WRX blue. The actual color is Dodge Viper blue, its light in the direct sunlight but gets alot darker the more the suns sets. I love it!!

 

Also similar in colour to the WRX Blue is this colour on my car, Electron Blue Pearl (99-00 Si, and others).
