I'd love it if someone could do a slo-mo, clip, or frame capture of the amount of stretch that Renee withstood in that impact, from the video that was posted earlier. It would be a very powerful portrayal of what we set ourselves up for when we play this game.

Scott tells me that Zsolt has the goods and mad vid skilz to pull it off. How about it, man?

Gregg Baker (The Isaac dude) was also trying to get a frame by frame of the impact. I'm not sure if he made any progress.

As an update, Renee is totally fine, and has vowed to NEVER get in a race car again without an Isaac.

Assuming there is more then 1 frame of "head shot" on that tape. I am in Taiwan 'till 12/3, but will be happy to dry when I get back. Giles has my addr, send the 8mm tape and I will give it a shot.

Did she end up clipping the blue Civic at the end there or not? It looks so close in the video I really was not sure.

A friend has been on some of the SCCA national safety committees and he is a big proponent of head restraints. This sort of stuff reminds me why. Ouch. Glad to hear everyone is ok, sucks about the car though.

She did, but he was able to save it.
Thats the car that tagged her in the rear to start the mess.

 

If y'all still need some video editing done let me know... I work for a digital encoding company. We have all the cool editors and stuff.

The other thing that 22 taught us is that a good cage is indespensible. The front of that car was a total write off but both of the doors still opened and other than a small crease above the pass side door the entire driver compartment was intact.

Also, if anyone wants/needs the original video from before I crunched it down let me know and I can email it to you... it might give you a little more to work with for the slow-motion video?
