Need your guy's opinion on a crx im looking at
Right now i am looking at a 88 crx si. it has 57k origional miles, ran carfax and seems to be correct. Interior is mint, perfect condition, engine tranny still look brand new, engine runs great, tranny shifts great, new tires, the car is all stock, still has factory exhaust on it, all service records from when it was new, now whats wrong with it. It was located in illinois and recienty came to iowa, but is rusted pretty good over the rear wheel wells like most crxs, also it was hit in the front and needs a new bumper and driver side fender. The owner wants 1200 for it, but i think i could get it for 900 or a 1000, does that seem like a good price or a little high, any imput is greatly appriciated thanks.
The motor and trany alone with that few miles on it is worth at least $900. If you are looking to make this a DD, the $1200 asking price is worth it. The rust kinda kills it, but the price seems to reflect both low mileage and poor body condition together.
I would buy it, but I am too far west to do that... I say GET IT!!
If you can talk them down, go for it!

Any decent body shop can cut out and weld in new panels in the rear. $900. for the car + $500. for the new rear panels=$1400. Not to bad for a clean rex.

it was just hit hard enough to mess up the fender and the bumper, the radiator support and everything else looks to be in good shape, so the front end damage seems very minimal
