I guess little fuel injected motors are more sensetive to this. I believe tehy flood the motor a bit, but i dont' really know. It's happned to me a few times in my old car, we got a new clutch in it, and a new exhaust, so with out a tach, it was quite a change.
How old is your main relay? When you were trying to restart it, did you notice if the fuel pump was priming/main relay ticking? If the main relay is on its way out it will give you crap sometimes when the car's cabin warms up. It will start fine initially but if you turn the car off for less than a few minutes it might not start right back up. Anyway check and see if the fuel pump is priming if it ever does it to you again.

Well, since i was used to just revving it in the horrilvbe exhaust leak noise area, when they fixed it you coudln't hear your revs, and with a more grabby clutch, you coudn't just drop it to go. So I stalled the car an awful lot.
Also if your main relay is causing troubles, you can resolder it. I did on my old car, and it never gave me a problem again.

yea it was seemed like everything was fine, heard it ticking and all, that's why i was like wtf
i was thinking that it had something to do with the fuel pump, not sure tho, today has been the coldest so far this year, if that matters, also the car was parked for about 6hrs while i was at school drove it for about 5mins, then it happened
thanks for the help

This doesn't sound to likely, If it was this, it would do it regardless of method used to turn off the car. Another thing is, it probobly woudlnt' crank over trying to start each time it's turned.

was it turning over at the same speed. If it wasn't turning over or turning over a little slower it might be your battery. Believe it or not it takes a lot of juice to start your car while it is still hot, all the metal has expanded and everything is tighter.
I have had this happen to me, it would start first thing in the morning but if i killed it after driving it and tried to start it right up again it wouldn't. Battery was on its last legs.
