leaky hatch

Default leaky hatch

ok i need to know how to fix this i searchewd a few times but came up with nuttin.anyways,when it rains or i wash my car.water comes from the hatch struts on the inside.;anyone know how to fix this?

btw it seems to be just the driver side strut thats leaks water.

ok i dont want to get flamed for asking thisbut wtf is a sealed hatch hinge?

i dont understand.u mean the part that bolts to the body.is there suposses to be a ruber seal there?

It should be sealed with some kind of sealant, like a weatherstrip adhesive. Due to the age of the car, the sealant applied at the factory dries and cracks around the hatck hinges and the roof seams. Reapplying this sealant can sometimes fix the leak.

I had the same problem for a long time. Finally found out that water was leaking in from the taillights, and then would run down the struts, so i thought that the struts were the problem...got some new lights and a new taillight gasket and my leaks were gone...

damn now u mention it i dont have no gaskets on my center light i wonder if that whee the waters coming from.i seald up the struts im going to put water on it tomroow and see if it leaks.
