Default Highest revving integra?

Whats the highest revving integra you've seen? I know 8k(8.2k actually) is even crazy but ive seen some going north to 10k! I was just wondering because i wouldnt mind a couple extra rpms on my gsr. I know i would have to modify the ecu and install a new valve train with various other things but yea.

Is that the same guy who posted a video of him revving that high w/ the AC on as well!? This was a few years back when I seen it in the ITR forums.

Still not a good idea. Unless it makes power that high and is reinforced for the extreme stress that those extra revs put on the bottom end, there is no reason at all to rev that high except for bragging rights.

And I bet there aren't many people on here with a motor built for that and still making power that high.

i rev my motor to 9300 and my AVCR showed that i once hit 9983 rpms ( i dont think thats true.. maybe a glitch bc my rev limiter is 9400)..

fully built motor

My friend hit 9500 in his Civic Si (B18C drop) but even though it can rev that high and is awsome to watch, it doesnt mean it actually makes power at that rpm. Unless your engine is built for higher compression and higher rpms than it would be stock, Id say leave it alone. You will actually lose power at higher rpm, it really makes no sense to do that unless your engine is built to provide power at higher than stock rpms. The powerband shows that the initial cam cuts power at about 5g, and vtec kicks in until just under 8400. Since the vtec cam cuts out under its redline, it means that there is no power being made above where the redline normally is. Check out dynos on this stuff, you will find that its better (and probably safer) to leave it at the redline and do some internal work rather than letting it rev till it blows. Long response, but unless you are building your engine to rev that high (which would be cool) then its a bad idea to do it otherwise.

i was talking to one of my friends, and he said with an LS/Vtec swap you can get to 10,500 rpms with a b16 crankshaft. I don't think you can get much power at that rpm, but yea its probably just for bragging rights. but hey, more power to you if you can.

contact OPAK RACING, they can tune your stock b16 block to make power at 10k...stock cams....im still wondering if id like to spend my money for that...

but seriously though, unless you are a circuit track *****, spinning your motor that high is just for bragging rights....

15k? thats nuts. Yea i know if i were to raise my redline i would make sure it was worth it and get it tuned for that. I also just love the scream(but hate the pounding the engine gets) with high rpms, exspecially with open headers lol. I grew up riding two stroke dirt bikes(own a 2000 cr125 right now and tops out at 13500rpms) so maybe thats where i get it from.
