Seatbelt question
Does anybody know how to fix the winding on a seatbelt? Everytime I get out the car, it wont wind back up quickly enough and its annoying as hell, i think it actually takes a couple of hours to wind all the way back up.

I don't work for a dealer, but yes, seatbelts are covered by a lifetime warranty. I once had a 82 Prelude beater. I was probably the 4th owner of the thing. I brought her in and they installed new seat belts in her.

Just so long as the car has a clean title. There's a service bulletin that says if you wipe both sides of the belt down with ispropyl alcohol, they'll retract better. This didn't work all the time though.

Why when the dealer will replace them for free? They don't just hand them to you, they install them too! Do you not have a clean title?

free? are you sure about that? ><; i'm pretty sure i have a clean title but i guess i'll try to call the dealer. does it matter if i go to the honda or acura dealer cause the honda dealers here hate to get acuras even though they're the same thing. we dont have an acura dealership close by
I don't know if you even need to have a clean title to get free replacement. I had mine replaced and they didn't check the title before doing so. They will however check the seatbelts before they do anything. (naturally) If they are just retracting slowly, but are still functioning properly otherwise, they may not do it. It all depends on the dealer you bring it to I guess.
Yes I'm sure. I used to work at an Acura/Honda dealer. Hondas and Acuras have lifetime warranty on their seat belts. And it does need to go to an Acura dealership. HiRaven does bring up a good point about the retracting thing. If it really can't fully retract by itself then it should be covered. What we used to do was clean them with the alcohol like I mentioned and if they still didn't completely retract in a specified amount of time (don't remember the exact amount of time but it was 10 seconds-ish), then we would replace them. Tthey usually don't stock these things so don't be surprised if they tell you to come back when they get them.
I am going to check with the Acura dealer by me and see if they will replace mine. My drive belt keeps popping out, it wont stay fastened, and they wont retract I have to push them in. I take it they will cover that. Okay thanks for the idea man.
