Depends on many factors. The "best" gas for my stock Civic might be 87 octane but the best for a turbo 400hp Civic would prob be 91+ octane. Not to mention premium at one place might be 91 and at another station it could be 93. I suggest reading one of the many threads on gas octane rating if you are looking for guidance on what octane to run.

People dont seem to understand that these cars (civics) were made from the factory to be economy cars, and actually run better on Regular Unleaded, period. Unless however, you are modified w/ higher compression (all motor) or lower compression and running boost or nitrous. Other than that, running premium gas in a bone stock civic is just plain stupid and a waste of money. I hate this argument...it always comes up

I use regular unleaded but think that it does make a difference to use a premium briand (BP / Shell) rather than Tesco. I don't have any hard and fast evidence but think I get better mpg

Let this be the end of all POINTLESS GAS THREADS!!!

B18B/A, B20, and all single cams (knowing that they are stock) will use REGULAR fuel.

B18C1, B18C5, B16, B17, H22, which is basically all the VTEC dual cam motors, will use premium!

Use what your manufacter recomends!
