Default Strut tower bar question.

Who makes a strut tower bar that fits in the STOCK location. On most USDM cars there are 2 rubber plugs where the bar bolts on. I can not use one that bolts onto the bolts from the suspension.

Thank you...

P.S If anyone has pics......PLEASE POST.

Have a great night.

Ok maybe I'm too slow or something but you cannot use the regular style that bolts up to the two holes on each strut? That is the stock location. What do you mean by rubber plug?

Just about an inch or two toward the fenders from the strut bolts, there are two black plugs, about a dime's size that go from front to back... thats where he is talking about... you have to put unts inside your wheelwell to hold the bar in place.

Correct.

I was hoping for something more than a stock black bar.. I actually have one of those but don't care for the look.

The ITR bar would match fine in that engine bay.

Yeah I like that.....They make that for a 93 ex civic?

What kinda price tag?....Where to find?

Don't you think a billet one would look better?

Thank you.

I have a JIC front strut bar... It mounts to the two plugged holes on both towers. Cusco makes one similar too.

That type of bar from an aftermarket company will be hard to come by, since in all their glorious testing sesions (all indoors...on pedistals ) they all seem to have found out that bent bars connnected to the strut and having connections that swivel are ideal...

If nothing else, make it yourself. Grab a copy of some 3d program, design up 2 type-r-like brackets, and use a solid bar of polished aluminum for the gap. I plan on going a functional route, with 1/4" steel brackets and a very thick-walled steel bar, braced to hell. At this point in time, my car is all about function and performance, rather than form & bling.

I would really prefer one that went to tower to tower and the firewall.

I live in a small town with no machine shop.
