valve adjustment now my idles lower??
I just had my valves adjusted by a Honda dealer on my 97 Prelude SH with 100k and the car idle is lower now what would cause that? The car pulls alot harder now so i really dont want to take it back if its not going to damage anything.. any knowledge on why its doing this would help
The tech probably adjusted your idle after working on the valves since it's real easy to do (one screw). As long as your idle is at spec, I forget what it is 700 rpm's I think, then your okay. If it's lower than that adjust your idle control screw to bring it up a little bit.
A valve job could very well make the car idle lower. Your car just gradually got out of spec on the valve lash and he brought it back to how it should be (...hopefully).
As others have said, just raise the idle a bit with the idle screw and you're all set.
