K series and Nitrous??
Well im a Mustang guy myself and i know my motors limits but im wondering about my friends CRV. I know there is a CRV section here even a TSX (same motor) But those are dead forums.
Its a 2004 k24.
Im thinking it should handle some nitrous pretty good. 65 shot?
What are the pistons made off? Weak points of the motor? Upper ring material?
Thanks guys.
And please no, "nitrous isnt safe"

Yes the other precautions will be taken into concern.
I was hoping to sqweeze a 65-80 but I guess 50 will have to do.

ok screw the "nitrous isn't safe stuff" if you buy a good kit, ie nx efi wet kit, your prob gonna be ok assuming your don't miss a gear and what not but with a crv i think they are all auto. trannys so whatever.... I was running a 75 shot on my old k20a3 engine and it loved the gas! i really think I could have put a 125 shot on it and would have been ok, 75 shot was a daily driver mode and helped the engine not suck a$$! Now I have a dif. engine and there is no need for nitrous anymore but in my opinion the slightly bigger k24 should handle a 75 shot no pro, but make sure you buy nx, zex and edlebrook I have heard probs with the wot switch sticking open and that obviously would be the end of your motor!

amen
anyone have experience with progressive nitrous kits ?
"The EdelbrockProgressive Nitrous Controller: The system utilizes pulse width modulation to regulate the amount of Nitrous being delivered over a specified period of time to the Nitrous and Fuel solenoids.
- Nitrous Starting Percentage - Control the initial Nitrous hit from 10% to 100%
- Final Nitrous Percentage - Control your final Nitrous delivery percentage from 10% to 100%
- Nitrous Power Ramp Build Time - Effectively time how quickly you want to Ramp your Nitrous system from the Starting to Final Percentage .200 - 9.900 seconds"
sounds interesting

wow, that sounds really interesting! Thats kinda like running a two stage system right? Don't you run a low shot in first stage for low gears and a high shot for the 2nd stage? At least thats my understanding, now obviously this is much controlable and sounds like to most reliable power from a nitrous kit!
