High flow oil pumps
I was just wondering since I need to buy a new oil pump for my turbo d16y8 I am building if I should buy a high flow aftermarket one? are they worth the extra money? would I need one for boosting 17 to 25lbs.? also; how many psi does the stock oil pump make every 1000 rpm, I seen an aftermarket oil pump that increses 10psi for every 1000rpm, is this too much, or not needed for a street car? thanks

You damn sure dont want a pump that pushes that much pressure. If I were you , I would stick with stock. You can adjust the pressure if its too low via a spring inside the pump.

why not go higher?? Just wondering what your reason is to this. My dad has a fully built motor for a trans-am, and it has a high volume and pushes well past 100 psi. With the pressure of your pistons from boost against your crank i'm not seeing why you wouldn't want high pressure. Anyways, i am interested in the pump if you have a link that would be great. I"m already boosted, but will be rebuilding my motor during the winter wonderland time.
