Default STRANGE PROBLEM

alright i have a strange problem here, i jus fixed my fuel pump and put a new main relay in my car...everythings running fine...then im driving home from school at night and when i hit the brakes and come anywhere close to about <20 mph, my voltmeter reads about 10.5 volts and the car struggles to stay started...sometimes dies right there... the only time it doesnt is if i dont have any draws on and im stopped by holding my ebrake...what could be the problem?

id check all your battery connections and make sure theyre clean... most EF's have this problem except it is not very bad... just the headlights will dim if brakes are used... another thing you could try to do is eliminate any extra draws on the alternator(amps, neons, fog/driving lights, etc)... ive also heard about replacing your brake light bulbs with some led ones that are made by some company(cant remember the name right now)... they dont put as much of a load on the alt... good luck man

the belt's not a problem as long as it's not squealing. that is, until it breaks on you.

if it's on there and not squealing, your problem's something else.

how many ribs are on your belt? if it only has 3 such as the stock civic motors it would cause it to slip. if you have a b-series you need a 4 ribbed belt.

btw i see your local how far away is fairfield from cleveland?
