Hello: Just bought - Yellow 2000 Type-R #0911
I just want to say hello. I'll tell you, it's ALOT of work to buy a Type-R. Just buying one turned into a month long project.
The first Type-R (Black 2000) I went to look at was turbo'd to around 400Hp. This car was about a two hour drive each way to go see. I drove it and it pulled real hard. It might have been an 11 or 12 second car. I drove it and felt like it was going to explode... no thanks. I prefer it a little more stock and maybe tastefully modified.
The second car I went to see was a seven hour round trip to go see. It was a White 98 with a JDM B18C engine. It drove great and ran great. It was pretty stock except for a carbon fiber hood that looked good but didn't line up perfectly. I made a deal with the guy and agreed to buy it. I had met him pretty late at night to see the car and we agreed to meet again during the day to go over everything. I had the next weekend off and we planned the transaction for that time. I planned to drive out friday night, sleep in his home town, and meet him in the morning. Friday came and I ducked out of work early, picked up my girlfriend, picked up a nice rental car to make the trip, prepaid and rented a room with a jacuzzi and plasma TV, and then hit the highway. I had agreed to call him when I was on the way out there. He answered the phone and told me he had horrible news... THE CAR HAD BEEN STOLEN THAT VERY MORNING!!! I didn't believe him but what could I do? I simply told him that I wished he had called me sooner (rented the car, hotel room, etc.) and that I hoped that he would recover the car. I did call his local police department to check out the story. I explained the situation to the officer and began to read him the VIN of the vehicle... The officer cut me off and finished the VIN for me. Well, I did feel like I got ripped off with the deal but I really felt bad for the owner of the vehicle. He had it worse than I did since the car was actually off the road, unregistered and UNINSURED! He lost 100% of the value of the vehicle.
The third Type-R I looked at is actually the one that I ended up buying. It took an entire weekend, pair of plane tickets (my girl and I), and a 14 hour ride home to get it!!

I hope she told you about the car. How much did you get it from her for? You shouldve spent some extra cash and bought Opie's caw.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I'll see what I can do for pics. First I have to take a few...
P.S. the five post count trial thing has me rationing off my replies (....sorry).

Hey dont worry I went through the same think. Before I bought mine I looked at 8 R. I flew to norfolk, va and drove her done 15 hrs, to miami, fl.
This is now my sixth Honda/Acura in a row. A couple of cars ago I had a 98 GSR that I loved. Then Honda switched the name and started making the RSX Type-S. I had the RSX-S for a few years and loved that too. I especially love that K20 engine. However, in cornering I always felt that extra weight of the RSX. It's not that the RSX handled badly. But honestly the old GSR just seemed to handle better at the limit. So now I have come full circle and returned to the integra.

. NO seriously though, we need pics!
