Hello all - i got my new GSR a while ago now, and I right away experienced an issue when going over bumps in my new car. it was lowered and all the shocks were blown and everytime i hit a bump it sounded like my tires were rubbing and it shook the car terribly. I raised it and it alleviated the problem to only when i hit a bump hard or had another passenger that was at least 150 pounds or over but even alone if i go quick enough and hit a decline in the road it would grind and shake the car and force my cd player to shut off it hit so hard - anyhow -
i figured that purchasing new shocks would fix this issue - so i bought new tokico illuminas and left them on the stock springs - i am very happy with the shocks, but the issue still remains, even though i turn them to the stiffest setting the car will still grind over bumps, i guess im at a loss i dont know where to look next, does anyone have any idea that can help me out where to look or start fixing??

sounds to me like the springs aren't stiff enough. If I were you, I'd look at getting something like Ground Control coilovers (custom springs rates, but the off-the-shelf versions work just fine) or a good quality spring: eibach, H&R, etc. Also, when it comes to suspension, you get what you pay for. Oh, by the way, I had illuminas with OTS (off the shelf) ground controls and it was awesome

 

i spent around 400 on my shocks didnt buy anything cheap but nothing horrendous - also i just thought this might matter too, im using larger wheels than stock for an integra im using 17 inch kuhmos with a 40 profile - anyone else have ideas?
