Default Slicks - I did a few searches, but need suggestions on size and where to buy.

I'm going to be running an all motor K20a2 EG putting down about 250whp (guestimate).

I'm using 15x7 wheels.

Now, M&H has a 8.5/23.5 15 and MT has a 22.0/8.0-15 and 24.5/8.0-15.

Suggestions on size and who has the best price on them?

Thanks!

Steve

You probably dont want to "over slick" the car. And go too wide on a 15x7 to loose contact patch, so I would be safe to use a 24.5/8.0/15

Go to http://www.mandhtires.com. Im sure they've got the best pricing there

M&H doesn't have that size, MT does.

M&H has a 7.5x23.0x15. You may want to try those out as they probably will allow better contact patch for you on the wheel size you have

22-8-15 should do the trick, i use them on my boosted b18c civic ex no weight reductions, 1.800 60' and your power level it should work out fine, if you get too big of a slick it will gear you too high, you need the smallest slick that will hook.

steve if using a tight gear'd ep3 tranny i recommend at least a 24" slick. the 23 and 22" will be too short forcing you to go an extra gear ... assuming you'l rev to 9krpm tops.

M&H 8.7/25-13 or the M&H 8.5/24.5-15 Happy Holidays

6spd trans, lightened flywheel, LSD (not yet purchased so I'm not sure what one I'll have) and EP3 Final Drive (4.74).

Hey greg, i got a question for you. Could there be a signifigance in times by getting a much larger slick tall wise to compensate for hitting 5th gear for instance. I hit fifth recently when running on my skinny AVS ES 100s and getting a 13.0 and im planning on going with a 23inch slick from M&H.

I used the m&h 23x8.5x15 on my k20. went thru the traps at 107 in 4th gear. using the type-s six speed trans.

I still have the tires and they are for sale. they have exactly 4 passes on them. PM me if interested.

I have the same problem!

What size slicks?

I think it comes down to the number of revs you want to be pulling at the 1/4 mile, the gear box final drive ratio and what gear you are in when you go across the line.

Because the power of a motor, weight etc varies so much this can only be accurately sorted out with a 1/4 mile run.

So some people say 24” Diameter and some say 22” Diameter, it depends on what the sweet spot is for the individual car.

So trial and error, you dont know untill you start tuning your car in.
