I've been using Royal Purple synthetic BLEND for about 3 months now. My wife suprised me and got an oil change for my car and let them put... who knows what in it. I plan to leave for Delaware (from NC) tomorrow morning. Do I need to rechange the oil first? It's a 2000 LS if that matters.

 

You shouldn't change from synthetic to non synthetic, without going first to a synthetic blend. I'm not sure why, but that's what I've read. I don't think this one time will hurt anything. Plus most shops now use synthetic blend, because of this problem. I just started working in a shop that does things like oil/tires, and we have synthetic blend Pennzoil.

 

If they put synthetic in there it shouldnt be a problem, but I wouldnt put money on it that they did. Most of the time you have to ask for synthetic. but overall, I really wouldnt worry about it. unless your car has 150,000+ miles on it or 100,000+ it shouldnt be a problem...but a lot of people may disagree with me.
I have a 95 gsr that had convetional oil in it intil I bought it and she was just fine. Same with me 96 4Runner. My mom had it before me and she had the dealership put conventional in and it now has 200,000 miles on it with no coughs. so, I would drive to whereever and when you get back put the purple stuff in it. no biggie.

 

I had a synthetic BLEND, not full synthetic. I'm sure that the jiffy lube put regular oil in it. Will this hurt me?

ur good to go for another 4000miles, then get an oil change.

i have a 96LS. has 150k and stills runs smooth. engine doesnt shake and is quiet.

why? cuz i drive normal.

all i got are Iceman intake, dc header and 3" exhaust welded to a RS-R muffler.

oh yeah, Turbo comin soon!
