D16A6 cam in a D15B7
I drive a 95 manual civic hatch. I can get ahold of a D16A6 cam from a friend for $25. I'm not interested, nor can i afford crazy power right now, so i need not hear from b-series worshipers. I have i/h/e, and underdrive pulley. Like i said, basic bolt-ons. I know that this A6 cam is more aggresive than my current cam. Does anyone have any experience with putting this cam into their non-vtec SOHC? If so, can you give me some feedback as to wht kind of power difference i will see? I'm expecting about an 8hp gain to the wheels. Let me know what you think.
ive done it...and lemme tell you its worth it. I paid 40 for mine and it worked wonders. Nice gains throughout the rpm range. Youll need a 96-00 y7/y8 cam gear or an adjustable to set the timing on. All in all its worth it.
Was this your first cam install? This will be my first, and i'm wondering how long the install is. I'm not a stranger to engines, just never messed with cams. Also, are you sure about a y7/y8 cam gear being the one i need? I heard that i'll need an adjustable cam gear. Gimme some more details on what you swapped the cam into so i can better determine what i'll need. I'm starting with a D15B7. Thanks.
and if you cant find out enough info in this site about your d series engine, i suggest you check out................
