Just pikced up a 88 accord LXi. The guy i bought it from said he was driving on the freeway and then the brakes just went to the ground... so i was looking at it, and it had no brake fluid.. test drove it to 7-11 and got some fluid, and amazed the guy when i schooled him on the brake light will turn off (he said it's been on for over 2 years)... anyway, so i was just going to bleed it and have a sweet car for $550... but then i noticed that this (see pics) is leaking... So natrualy i went to the store to get it replaced/priced out, but the guy at autozone said he doesnt sell any thing like taht for any car... (this guy is a jerk by the way)...

so i guess my question is, where can i pick one of these up? can i repair this one? it doesnt look like it's leaking from the join, but rather the round rubber thingamabobber above the join. Is there a rebuild kit for one of these? or should i just go try and pull one from the junk yard?

that one looks just like a civic(92-95) proportion valve, does it? if so you could probably just find a civic with the same proportion valve and replace it. i do have a civic proportion valve layin around from a 92 civic cx.

Go to 3geez.com and someone there should have one that you can buy. I would sell you the one off my parts car but I don't have the time to pull it at least for another week.

 

People at autozone arent too bright.
Thats the same damn shape of the proportioning valve they use on the 3rd gen (94+) Integras, the RS one with no ABS. And the 88 Accord LXi I happen to know has the same brake calipers as the 90-93 Integra. Wanna bet theres a Integra with the prop. valve you need somewhere?
