My tires tread started ripping off... is this normal after hitting a bad bump?
Well i was coming back from the track yesterday, and i hit a bump in the road and all of a sudden i hear a flap flap flap noise coming from the wheel well, well it was like a piece of the tread coming off cause something cut it in the middle. I said expletive it and i kept driving. Well the noise went away, and then i heard it come back again, and stopped and so on a couple more times. Well i get home and i check my front right tire, and i see that a whole new grove was cut into my tire, and i dont know what this means. Is this normal? Could i get a new tire? Its fairly fresh even though i bought this set 6-7 months ago, as i only got 2-3k miles on it max since then.
Also a friend said that this could be a defect, is this true?

No not in the inside, it was straight in the middle, like a patch had a new groove cut into it. Ive had rubber strip on the inside, frmo being too low and this is not it.
