I'm having a problem with my 98 civic lx. The car keeps dying on me. I went to advance and had them test it out. They said it was the battery I replaced the battery and it still does that. the car has about 138,000 miles on it. It's mainly if i'm using the car all day. I'll be on the road and it will just shut itself off on me. or when I go to start it up it will die back down. Sometimes this will happen within four times of me turning it on before it actually starts. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas to what the problem might be it would be nice to hear it.

 

Make sure the alternator is functioning properly, but its hard to think that a mechanic would miss that.

 

Main relay? Distributor? My Accord would randomly die when I would start it, turned out to be a bad dizzy.
