gsr rear disc conversion...a little play in hub...y?
just finished my gsr brake conversion on my 96 ek....fronts are perfect...but there is a little bit of play in the hub on both rears so it causes the rotor and wheel to wobble also.
what could the problem be? bad bearings?
i tightened the 32 mm axle nut as much as it would go...thinking it might solve the problem...but there is still a little bit of play in it...
im concerned about driving with this problem....any input would be aprreciated.

Well, if the bearings are bad, you have to replace the whole hub. They cost around 100 per side with the wheel studs in 'em (I think). Honda's rear end has the bearings built into the rear hub...
You will also have to rent tools to pull the hub off & press it back on.
You will also need new hub nuts too.
Not to difficult if all goes well, but I've heard of the bearing coming apart when you try to remove the old hub/bearing unit. That leaves the inner race stuck onto your rear spindle. Then you would probably need professional help to get it off...
#1 is the hub/bearing unit with studs (aprox $125 from HondaAutomotiveParts.com)...

Yeah yeah, the hub for the rear disc is the same (mabey different part number, but I doubt it). It will still cost the same, and you can still get it from the same place, and it will still be the same proceadure to replace it...
Here is a new pic for you ($106 each for a 94 Si w/o ABS, $136 each w/ ABS)...

napa has them for like $80 w/o ABS and $100 w/ abs... you dont need to press the hub or anything on the rear, remove the brakes/disk, remove the 32mm, switch out the hubs and your good. new bearing are already pressed in the hub and its studded already also!
missing the washer...........dat was the problem. all taken care of now...i used the washer from my drum set up
