b16a3 and ls trans compatibility
I have a 92 civic si with a b16a3 and the y21 (hydraulic) transmission. I would like to know if the acura LS transmission will fit? Will it need different CV axles? Will it need different shifting linkage? Also, was the LS trans ever offered with an LSD?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Ok, Yes the LS tranny will bolt straight up and no you dont need any diffrent axles. i dont think they can come with LSD but you can throw any b series compatable lsd in there (ITR or quaiffe)
Why would you want to do this? the only time it will help is if your car is boosted.

Thank you.
Yes my car is boosted. I have a b16a3 with an FMax kit. I'm in the process of building a motor because the oil pressure T fitting snapped off while I was driving down the expressway and all my oil was pumped out onto the street. Double check all work done by your friendly neighborhood mechanic...long story. Anyway, my motor will have a stronger bottom end and some F1 head work when complete which will allow me to run a nitrous spool up kit with 15lbs or so of boost to be topped off with an alchohol injection kit. So with all this expected power, my Y21 trans gears are just too damn close togethor. Even with a stock motor and 8lbs of boost, I can roast the tires all the way through 1st and 2nd (sometimes right there on the start line without even moving).
Okay, so the trans bolts up and the axles are the same. What about the clutch?
