URGENT! Vss Install, Clip Wont Hold, Will Mechanic Wire Wrapped Work???
Im dropping my motor into my Crx, want to install the VSS into the tranny before I put the motor in, it has a key on the end and it only seems to click way down in one place, but when pushed down I cannot get the little clip to wrap around and keep it down secure. I want to just wrap a few rotations of thinner wire through the slots to hold it down permenatly and slide the boot over
Will it work perfect?
Thank!

I had this problem the other day.
Turns out I had the clip facing the wrong way. The side that is more rounded needs to stick on the outside; the side that has a more extreme (sharper) curve needs to go into the slot that sticks up from the gear drive.
Pop it in place that way and it'll hold.

what up...you should definitely go get that clip out the grass like now cause if u got a vtec motor in that **** vtec wont work unless the ecu can read how fast the car is going, if the clip dont fit go to the dealer and get a new one it only clips in one way ur old clip could be bent or some **** , what i do at work is put the clip around that little shaft the cable slides into and spin the clip around and around till the clip finds the slot and clips in so good luck and if u need more help call me at work (1-858-569-1511) i work at greenlight honda acura in san diego ca, and im ADAM so good luck!
Ive got an A6 so no vtec for me
Im still trying the wire though unless someone can say it wont work, I can only see it being stronger and easier to remove/install than the clip, Im assuming that clip doesnt have to hold a lot fo force anyways right?
Thanks
