I TOO, have joined the 10 second club.
I just cross posted from clubsi.
So, After my post of wanting a 10.999, I went to the track sunday. Saturday night in KC = HORRIBLE. raining/drizzling, with chances of flurries. Looked at the forecast for sunday and it was highs of 40 and chances of flurries.
Woke up about 9 o'clock to see the sun was actually out. WOW, 42.5 degrees. Called the track and they were open. SWEET. load the rest of my stuff into the car and go.
get out there, slicks are on, spark/jack is out. line up, nice burnout and then. it happened. SNAP. GREAT. broke the axle.. Pushed her back and put a spare axle in.
Go back out. All scared. Ginger her off the line to a 2.0 60 foot. 11.4 @ 128 mph. WOW, nice mph
Go back out again, a little more confident in the axle (no more spares to throw in if she breaks) 11.2 @ 128 mph 1.9 60 foot.
At this point, I didn't know if I would hit 10s or not. My last trick up my sleeve was to pull the rear bumper to see if the parachute effect really happens, That and I bumped the boost up 1 pound.
Not a good move, she actually slowed down to a 11.2 @ 126 mph (sputtered up top so I let out)
Realized we had about 15 minutes left to go, so I just decided to go ***** out and REALLY launch the car. Set the slicks to 8 pounds and did a nice gummy burnout.
All that and no 10.999
She ended up
r/t .019
60 1.784
330 4.759
1/8 7.133
mph 103.36
1000 9.176

mph 130.60

No pictures, but i'm going to try to get a video up. My buddy's friend's dad was out there. He has some REALLY good video from what I hear.
Oh yea, I forgot to change the sig.
Matt, The exedy clutch just wouldn't hold over 350 whp. Didn't work out TOO bad since it was a nice clutch for DD duties (the 4 puck is kinda rough) and even when I took it out, the material looked great.

thats what i wished we joind. first time ever down the track in newly built h22 turbo 98 coupe we only joind the 11 sec club. we wanted to see if she felt good & how the suspension was going to act . we dont have the boost set to 1st ,2nd & 3rd gears properly all the power comes on at vtec, sorry to cry on your shoulder but hopefully we will joing u soon. nice big
to ya! hey imagine if the track was alittle warmer to give nice traction after 60' 10.5 or lower here u come. it was about 58 at maryland (mir) today.
It was a little scary at the track today. I also tried running low boost in 1st and 2nd, then turn on the profec to hit high boost.
Boy, 1st and 2nd hooked. flipped to high boost in 3rd gear and spun the slicks mid track
Yea, she wasn't the best hooking track today, but she did good enough
With technology expanding as fast as it is and the free software like crome/uberdata/and not FREE but neptune. I'm sure There will be quite a bit more cars in the 10 second club come next year.

Not bad?
This is Tony with the color change hatch from jeff city, looks like me and my brother are going to have to do some work this off season
or the four door will be showing us the right way down the track.

Man, you guys have 13 mph on me. I can't hang with my 4 door.
I think as is. It'll need a LOT of $ to keep doing 10 second passes, so I won't be concerned with laying down 1/4 mile numbers. I'll just go to the events and be happy
I thought you guys were going to stop drag racing? Or at least that's what a couple individuals told me.

Dont ever under estimate a heavy car. And get some axles and some 25inch slicks and launch off the line in high boost
My heavy 99 coupe weighing over 2700lbs makes it down the track pretty good to be so heavy, all i gotta do is keep it from catching on fire
ISnt it nice having a 4 door and people looking at you like your crazy then you go 10's. PRICELESS (Hoe much power are you making and what turbo and how much boost you running)

4-doors are lighter than coupes and not too far off the hatchbacks. But the look on peoples faces when you run 10's in a 4-door is much nicer

I'm running the same turbo you are
T3 67 HO
23 pounds of boost.
For some odd reason, I only made 401 whp at the dyno, but I don't care. it went 10s
and Matt,
The 4 door is NOT lighter than the coupe.
The 4 door EX = heavier than the 2 door EX
The 4 door LX is about 50 pounds lighter than the 2 door EX.
But when I ran my 10, I still had my sub in the back. I know the jack/spare wasn't there, but who knows. I need to scale my car to know it's EXACT weight.
My buddy's 91 si hatch weighs 2600 pounds with him in it. and I'm almost positive mine HAS to weigh more than his.

Spools a little slower than the SC61. Definantly a little more lag on the highway in the "dead spots" with the gears I guess the SC61 had it also, but it wasn't as bad.
I'd say spooled/boosted about 5800 or so. SC61 was a couple hundred RPMs sooner.
As far as the PIC coilovers. I really like them. To me, the "mounts" where the lower strut fork attaches seems MUCH stronger/thicker than the OTHER brands... They have the eyelet machined into the mount to make sure you don't thread them up TOO far causing failure. They have FINA oil in them, which is supposed to be be one of the better oils to be filled with.
The guys are pretty new, but they are really customer oriented. Never hesitant to answer questions. Suspension seems to work. I get 1.7 60 foots with this setup and even hit a 1.5 on it (ONCE) with my old b16 setup along with numerous 1.6 60 foots.

And you haven't even been running the drag setup. Although that can be fixed!

the 11.6 video is on streetfire.net Just type in 11.6 and it should be the video that comes up on the top right.
Me racing a red ef hatch.
11.6 vs a 12.0
I'm waiting for my friend's dad to upload the videos. Not sure when it'll come exactly.
