Default Apexi Vtec controller Vs. Buddy Club V-CON??????????

I jus swapped a stock 98 jdm B18CR into my 96 hatch and im thinking about installing a vtec controller because i don't like vtec kicking in at 5.8k rpm. i need some feed back on both controllers and which you guys think would be the best aplicataion for the engine.

Yeah, don't mess with the vtec point unless you've done something major to the engine.

Well, if that's stock, I guess honda just felt that was the best place for it. Soem tuners will change it based on tuning and mods, but I wouldn't stock.

Stock Vtec engagement is set by engineers at a happy medium between power, efficiency, and gas mileage. Anything different and you will be sacrificing something.

As others have said, unless there's something more done to the engine (and I don't mean intake/header/exhaust/etc, there's no reason to alter the engagement point.

Would it be good to mix up the fuel and air ratios on my STOCK engine with the apexi controller or would it just be a waste of money too since its stock???

You might gain a little bit, but not a ton, and you could always have it for later and the knowledge as you mod things.
