The K20A2 and 3 are basically the same thing as far as the dimesions of the motor. Since the chassy is basically the same as the RSX there shouldn't be a problem , you may need a motor mount kit when it becomes available. I would go with the Type S if you were gonna spend the bucks on actually doing this.

well i think the type-s would cost more and be more of a hassle. changing the civic to a 6-speed would be nice dont get me wrong but i think thw work would be much harder especially ont he wallet. How much do u think it would cost? me and a friend can put it in!? but i dont know how realistic it is as of now. i dowbn wanna spend somewhere in the range of 10g's if it would cost that much i might as well trade the civic in for the RSX. thanks for the input though

I'm guessing the motor alone would be in the $8K area plus all the **** your gonna probably end up needing that you didn't think of when you first started since you would be one of the first to do it. Just give it a while and I'm sure some company/shop will try and do it.

This will make the new civic fun I would love to be one of the first people to get this done. Talk about sleeper, nobody would look at you twice if you pull up to them and start reving your 7th g Civic, then BAM!!! your gone

well there have already been victims who thought "ohh a 7th gen cant be that fast" then they see nothing but silver go past them. I have a 50 shot, I/E, and thats it but i am pretty fast.

Both motors suck, B20/VTEC TURBO Type S motors have NO TORQUE!
Now there's an insightful and well thought out respone. Maybe compared to your B20/VTEC Turbo, the Type-S may seem to have no torque. However, compared to just about all other Honda motors out there, the Type-S makes some pretty decent torque.

www.importbuilders.com does it, I think. I'm not sure it's advertised, though - you'd have to e-mail Jeff (the owner). Last I heard it was around $7,000 parts & labor for the type S swap into a 7th gen Civic.

But honestly, it's the same amount of work, and probably the same amount of money to swap in the base engine as it would be for the Type S. Unless you have FI plans for the future, get the better engine.
