im assuming this is going on a DA based on your avatar, but a 2 inch drop would look real nice. your safe with the stock struts for now if you plan on getting new ones later on. as long as there not blown already i wouldnt be too worried.

i had a 2 inch drop on mine with stock struts for a good 6 or 7 months until i blew the rear struts, given they were already a 100k miles old too.

The stock shocks are fine for now but i wouldnt intend on making it a permanent fix. I have a friend with a 98 GSR who has been on stock shocks with neuspeed race springs for over a year and his still rides great. It all depends on the current shape of your shocks. Me being super **** about my car i just waited and bought the koni yellows and put it all on at the same time.

dude, you're not being super **** about it. you're being smart.

think of it this way OP... you buy your springs, and camber kit.. go and install them, takes x amount of time right? then you HAFT to get an allignment.. you spend X amount of money on that.. all so you can have your car lowered NOW...

now... you have raised enough money to buy shocks/struts for her... costing you X amount of dollars.. now you haft to take out the suspension that was installed, swap out the shocks/struts, re-install everything, throw her back on the alignment table and get her re-alligned again because you messed up the geometry of the allignment due to taking everything off and re-installing it.

now let me ask you... is it cheaper (which is obviously what you're trying to achieve, but doing it in the wrong way) to install your springs and camber kit NOW? then a few months down the road install your shocks/struts later?

or

waiting until you have everything, then go and get one big install, save your self a few bucks in the process, and dont need to worry about adding the shocks/struts to your setup later down the line?

think of it this way,

you wouldnt install a turbo kit w/o the turbo right?

think about it....

If your planning on getting some struts soon, why don't you just wait a little longer and install everything at onece, so you can save yourself some time.

Yah I made this mistake,

I want everything now so I went and bought cheap crap,

Tokcio HP Blues with Tenz R Coilovers,

I have had these for 1 week, Already ordered a cheap camber kit and
I need an alignment with 3" Camber, Eating up my new yoko rubber,

Well guess what, I'm saving up for a KY/GC setup and a better Camber kit,

I learned the hard way, by now listening to everyone, I listened to the three people that liked the HP Blue and tenzo coilovers,

Dont get me wrong I love my setup, But it could be better

here is a couple pics,

After I took these pics I lowerd her even more,

Later and GoodLuck, Do it right the first time. Always.

check our sponsor marketplace for great deals.. and ebaymotors for another option.

IMO, illuminas are way better than kyb agx's, and you get both front and rear adjustables unlike agx's that only have front adjustable, its easier to adjust illumina's with the adjustments on top like other brands, unlike agx's which are on the side of the absorber.

but illumina's offer ALMOST as harsh of ride quality as koni yellows but w/o the big price tag. AGXs are **** to begin with, so just try to avoid them at all cost

Harsh Ride quality? On stiff my yellows ride like a race car but on all soft the car glides like a freakin buick...

it's always better to get shocks that can handle the high spring rates of the springs. i have koni yellows "neuspeeds edition" and neuspeed race and they handle alot smoother then when i had them on stock struts. they are really stiff on the firmest setting and rides firm on the softest...

If it won't be more than a month until you can afford some koni yellows just wait b/c you should get an alignment right after lowering your car or you'l go through about a 1/4 of rubber in two weeks like I did when I was being stupid. I'd suggest against rear camber kits since even when your about 3 inches lowered a good alignment will be fine for the back. The front you might want a camber kit but don't cheap out on it. Get the skunk2/omnipower style and replace the ball joint boot w/a honda one so it doesnt rip apart in a month.

I'm currently running H&R sport springs with Koni Yellows and I love it. I'm about to lower the back a little more with the bottom perch on the konis.

i have a set of used H&R race springs, i took them off because i couldn't get over the speed bump at my work, raised up to eibach's, if you want them, $75, little dirty, but they work like new, low and stiff
