Well I finally got my hood yesterday(LONG story). I needed it because the B16 swap pushed up my hood quite a bit... anyways:

Went to install, had problems. Fixed it by making the whole in the hood mounts larger.

Then I noticed that the sides have much more curve to it than stock, thus the gap is fairly large.

Then I noticed that there are patches of haze under the clear coat.

Then this morning in the sun, I noticed that parts of the hood is dented...

ARGH! The more I think about it, the angrier I get.

How's your fit and finish? Be honest...

I like the over all look of the hood... off of the car it looks great... but on the car it's only ok. The thing is light, however. 16 lbs vs 33 stock. How is your hood?

does it say fiber images on the top of the hood? ive never seen one fit like that. fiber images that is.

 

yes it does. That part looks great!

yeah.. the guys over there have been helpful in getting my hood out to me... it did take over two months, but they are pretty nice on the phone. But I have to say, the fit isn't that great and the finish is good on 85% of the hood... let me see if I can get pictures up.

My first carbon fiber hood was a Fiber Images hood, it did not fit good at all and then some stupid idiot in a ford ranger decided to back into me when parked on the street scratching the **** out of the hood. So now my new hood is a NW Body kit hood and it fits perfect and looks perfect with on one visible flaw. I would highly recommend a NW bodykit hood over any others.

 

the problem is only FI makes SiR style hood for USDM fitment....

Mine fits like a glove without any gaps. Mine was also one of the first batches ever made of this style hood. Go figure, it should fit without any mods at all.

Crap I just got my sir style one last week. I havent even tried to fit it yet, actually I had a friend drop it off at the garage for me

 

It's been two months for me so far and I haven't seen a hood for me outside my house!!!! We'll see how it fits. For some resound I don't think it will fit because of my wastegate and B18 engine. Right now it's hitting my hood with the webing cut out. I just have a 1/4-1/2" dent in my hood now so it clears

 

i like my OEM Japan-spec ZC metal hood. it's like it was made for my car! oh wait, it was!

Well I've been in contact with FI about this issue... and they've asked me to try and buff it out... well that didn't work. So I am trying to get in touch with them do.

The thing that iwll suck about this is if I have to send it back, it would be a pain.

Your hood should be ok.. 3M handglaze will buff that baby out and add a nice shine.

 

I tried... that's the first thing they asked that I try was to buff it. Didn't work. The problem is it's under the coating.. not on the surface... I'll post some pictures later depending on what FI is going to do....
