Default Quick Question: '92 Civic Hatchback. Front & Rear Speaker Sizes?

Just wanted to know what sizes are the speakers in the front door panels of a hatchback. Also, I have the CX option where there are also two speakers on each side of the rear passenger seats... I was wondering what sizes are those as well. Thanks

I don't know the sizes, but you could try checking classifieds to see if anyone has some for sale.

i'm pretty sure the fronts are 6.5 and maybe the rears are 5 1/2 i'm not too sure about the rears but you'll probably have better luck in the A/V forum https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=27

the fronts come stock with 5 1/4 but you can fit 6 1/2's in easily. You just have to trim the back off the plastic cone that holds them.

Rear is 5-1/4"... front is 6-1/2" but good luck mounting anything that'll produce decent mid-bass. The speaker basket, even if you cut it, won't allow most of the "low profile / shallow mount" speakers out there to fit because of the basket design on the speakers. I have a set of Focal separates in the front mounted via custom made baffles. That was the only way to make em fit.

yeah they come 5 1/4"

But. All you do is take a dremel and chop the back off the mount real quick. Hell you could use a butter knife if you got about 30 minutes and no tools. super easy. That will enable you to fit 6 1/2" speakers. and whoever says you cant get good sound out of speakers that size obviously didnt buy infinitys. because my **** sounds ******* awesome.

I have a 95 2DR Civic DX with 5.25's in the rear. I want to install 6x9's but am concerned with the clearance from the hole to the trunk spring. Does anyone know what size 6x9's will fit or what the maximum depth is?

i fit component 6 1/2's in the front. i had to take everything out that held in the 5 1/4's, and cut a little of the frame on the door, and then make mdf rings to hold the 6 1/2's. not to much work for what i came up with in the end. i didnt have stock speakers in the back, so i cut out holes in the side panels, and mounted the speakers behind the panel, and then put the mesh cover over them on the plastic part that comes off on the side.

hmm...speakers in the back? nope just adds more weight plus the car is small so you dont really need them.

5lbs maybe. i used to be into systems before i sold it all and turbo'd my car. but i still kept my 2 sets of componets, and a 4 channel amp because i cant do any less than that after what i had in there.

mine rear speakers on my hatch came with the car... so i have no complaints on it... plus the car is already 200lbs or so lighter than the ex coupe... so I'm sure 10 lbs won't do much of a difference.
