hey peeps im a newbie here looking for some tire advice
Im looking to run some volk racing t37s on my 01 Type R and i want to use the Yokohama Advan AO32R but the only size i see that i can really use is the 205/50/15 wich i would have to run on my stock rims. The t37s im getting are 16 inch and the only tire i see that might have a chance in fitting is the 205/55/16 but i dont want a tall sidewall. the other choice is 225/50/16 and i dont think they will fit. any feedback will be appreciated ill also consider other tire options.
Note this car is not a daily driver so im not worried about tire life.

205/45-16, 215/45-16 or I think there is others too that will fit.
Here is some tire place you can take a look at.

You can run either 205/50/15 or 225/50/15 on 15" Volk TE37's.

Don't get 16's if you want to use R compounds on them. I made this same mistake in the past, and now I have a set of 16x7 Spoons collecting dust while I use 15x7.5 SSR Competitions.

Are you sure you want to be using R compounds? This is for the track only, correct?

Thanks for the feedback "Type R Yo" & Reid your probably right about the 15's and by the way NSX i do use them on the street but like i said it's not a daily driver but im a die hard canyon runner who like to have the capability of pushing it when i need to.

Talk about a waste.
Take it to the track, or hang it up

Then I would strongly recommend that you get STREET tires, not track tires. Track tires need to be warmed up to stick best, they give very little warning before breaking loose, they wear VERY quickly, and they don't do well if you hit a stretch of wet pavement. Get a high quality street tire, one that will grip when you want to push it.
Yo was correct about sizes; 205/45-16 or 215/45-16 are your best bet. The Falken Azenis RT-615 will be available in 215/45-16 next spring. Until then, the best street tire you can get in either size is the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 in 205/45-16. This tire came in first in the tire comparison test in the current (December) issue of Car and Driver, and it has the highest user survey ratings of all 24 tires in the Tire Rack's highest performance street tire category.

Please take it to the track. There's so many nice tracks in Cali where you can hone your skills.
I'm sure you'll find it far more rewarding to have a tangible way of knowing you're getting faster as a driver.

Take it to the track and keep it shiny side up.

You have a far better choice of tires with 205/45/16s than 215/45/16, theyre only a little smaller in diameter than the stock 195/55/15. How about Parada SpecII's? I considered a set of these and have only found good feedback on them but in the end up i went with Toyo T1-R's as i couldn't justify the extra $180 for the paradas.

The Yokohama Parada Spec-2 is crap. It's nowhere near as good as the Yokohama AVS ES100, and the ES100 is known as much for its low price as its performance (which is great for the money, but not as good as many other tires that are more expensive). You're MUCH better off with the identically priced ES100 than you are with the Parada, better off still with the Toyo T1R, or best of all, the Goodyear F1 GS-D3.
Prices, per 205/45-16 tire, at the Tire Rack except where indicated:
Yokohama Parada $82 (crap)
Yokohama ES100 $82 (okay, good for the money)
Toyo T1R $105 (better)
Goodyear F1 GS-D3 $128 (best)

Huh? The T1R is more expensive than the crappy Paradas, as noted above.
